New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) has today launched Daze of Our Lives, a new weekly podcast hosted by The Hits Drive Show host Polly "PJ" Harding and media personality Caitlin Marett.
Supported by The Hits and iHeartRadio, Daze of Our Lives is a relaunch and reimagining of PJ Harding's popular podcast Slow It Down, which debuted in 2024 and built a loyal audience around slowing down and pushing back on hustle culture. This time the show is built on Harding and Marett’s friendship. The pair met at broadcasting school 18 years ago and have been best friends ever since, and each week they bring listeners into the honest, humorous and unfiltered conversations that have kept that friendship strong through nearly two decades.
Marett returns to NZME with a broadcasting CV that spans more than a decade in radio, including several years producing ZM's breakfast show, and co-hosting the long-running Girls On Top podcast. She later stepped away from full-time radio to train and work as a registered nurse, a perspective she now brings to the microphone.
Daze of Our Lives was born from a simple desire to stay connected. Despite living at opposite ends of Aotearoa and navigating very different stages of life, best friends PJ and Caitlin wanted to create a space where they could regularly catch up, share their experiences, and bring each other into the everyday moments that matter. Through honest conversations, personal stories and plenty of laughter, the pair hope to show that no matter where life takes you, meaningful friendships can continue to grow and thrive.
Sarah Catran, NZME Head of Digital Audio, says: "PJ has already built a strong connection with audiences through her time on radio both here and in Australia, as well as through her podcast Slow It Down. Bringing Caitlin into the mix is a great opportunity for us to offer a fresh, authentic and highly engaging format which we know our listeners will love. We're thrilled to welcome Caitlin back to NZME and we're excited about the opportunities this podcast creates for both listeners and commercial partners."
PJ Harding says: "Over the years, our funniest, most meaningful or downright ridiculous conversations happen when no one else is listening, so we thought it was time to bring a microphone into the mix. We're excited to invite listeners into our friendship and hopefully bring a little joy to their week."
Caitlin Marett says: "I'm so excited to be back behind the microphone, and who better to do it with than my best friend. PJ and I have been having these conversations for 18 years, so hitting record felt like the most natural thing in the world. I've had a fair bit of life happen since I was last in radio or doing a podcast and I'm looking forward to bringing every bit of it with me."
Daze of Our Lives sits alongside NZME's growing slate of podcasts on iHeartRadio, New Zealand's largest podcast network, and is available now to commercial partners looking to reach an engaged female audience. The first episode of Daze of Our Lives is available now on iHeartRadio and all major podcast platforms. New episodes are released weekly on Tuesdays.
