NZME is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced automotive journalist David Linklater as Editor of DRIVEN Car Guide.
David has been Deputy Editor of DRIVEN for nearly six years, playing a key role across its digital and print platforms.
His relationship with DRIVEN stretches back more than a decade - as a freelance contributor, he wrote the cover story for DRIVEN’s first ever standalone print issue in 2011, filing a review of the Ferrari FF from the
Italian Alps.
Across his 30-plus-year career, David has worked at Autocar in London - the world’s oldest and one of the most respected automotive magazines - he’s edited a New Zealand-licensed edition of the iconic Car Magazine and contributed to publications including National Business Review and Top Gear.
Jasper Fulcher, NZME Managing Editor – Lifestyle says: “David is one of New Zealand’s most trusted motoring journalists and this well-deserved appointment cements Driven as the country’s go-to destination
for car advice.”
Linklater says: “Given my long history with DRIVEN, this is a very satisfying appointment for me. It’s also a
really exciting time to be writing about cars, with so many new brands entering the New Zealand market and
so much new technology on offer.
“Consumers need clear advice from an established and credible publication more than ever. But we’re also
committed to keeping cars fun, too.”
His appointment is effective immediately and comes as DRIVEN Car Guide continues to grow its audience
and expand its offering across print, digital and video.
DRIVEN Car Guide will reveal the Car of the Year 2025 later this week, with the full announcement appearing on DRIVENCarGuide.co.nz and in the DRIVEN Car Guide magazine in Saturday’s Weekend Herald.
