With the holiday season right around the corner, NZME’s The Hits Bay of Plenty (BOP), in partnership with Pacific Toyota, is thrilled to announce the return of The Hits Christmas Movie in the Park.
The free community event will take place on Saturday 2 December from 6 - 10 pm at Coronation Park in Mount Maunganui.
Building on the success of last year, the night will feature a variety of activities, food stalls, and entertainment, culminating in a screening of the Christmas classic The Grinch on a massive 40-meter squared LED screen.
In the spirit of Christmas giving, attendees are invited to contribute non-perishable food items for the Tauranga City Food Bank, in lieu of an admission fee.
Lauren Mabbett, The Hits BOP Day Show Host, is excited about the event's return and encourages everyone to head down and enjoy the festivities.
"Looking back at last year, we were blown away by the incredible community support. We received nearly 400 food items donated to the Tauranga Food Bank. This year, we're setting our sights even higher with a goal of 1000 food items donated. We encourage everyone to dig deep, search their cupboards, and start collecting non-perishable food items to bring along on the day,” she says.
"The Hits is proud to support local events and be an integral part of the vibrant BOP community. We appreciate these opportunities to connect with our local listeners and celebrate the unique spirit that makes our community so special."
The Hits crew along with our super event organiser, NZME's BOP Promotions Manager Hamish Gleeson, are looking forward to hosting another epic event this year, and we can't wait to share a bit of Christmas magic with our listeners," says Mabbett.
