Templates

Basic Dashboards

Search for "Basic Dashboard TEMPLATE" and make a copy of that for a basic dashboard - this will show only Google Ads data, not Google Analytics, and is what most clients get.

Google Shopping Client Dashboards

Clients who have Google Shopping get a slightly different dashboard which includes reporting on revenue and return on ad spend. Search for "Google Shopping Client Dashboard TEMPLATE" - make a copy and adapt it as required for the client. This dashboard includes search, display, shopping and Google Analytics.

Full Dashboards

If a client needs more detail on their dashboard, you can adapt the "Full Dashboard TEMPLATE". This includes Google Analytics and YouTube Campaign reporting as well as Search, Display and a map of NZ showing geographic distribution of clicks.

Quick Tips

Click on the blue View / Edit button at the top right to change between view & edit mode.

In Edit Mode, click on Page X to X to bring up a page menu on the right.

In the page menu, 3 dots will appear on the right of each page title - you can click on this to get a menu to rename, duplicate, delete or hide the page in view mode.

Troubleshooting

If the dashboard is not showing data and the campaigns have been running, try these things:

  • Check the date range in the drop down at the top.
  • Select the item that is not showing data and in the panel on the right, select Set Up and check:
    1. Is the Data Source selected? Check it is data source for the correct client.
    2. Are the metrics/ dimensions correct for what should be showing? For example, does it say "impressions" if you want to show impressions?
    3. Is the Default Date Range Auto?
    4. Is there a Filter?

0 Impressions Filter

We often use a filter to exclude campaigns that have 0 impressions - this is useful because it only shows the client campaigns that are currently active.

If there isn't a 0 imps filter already, you can create one - this is what it looks like:

Remove UA Data Source

If the dashboard is still referencing Universal Analytics (UA) as a data source:

  • Go to Resource ? Manage added data sources in your dashboard.
  • Look for any data sources labeled as "Universal Analytics" or UA-related.
  • Remove UA and replace with GA4.
