This article provides instructions on how to load podcasts in Triton.
Step-by-Step Guide
STEP 1: Creating an Advertiser
+ New Advertiser
Copy Advertiser name from GAM
Add IAB category
STEP 2: Creating a Campaign
- + New Campaign
- Name campaign
- Use naming conventions found here
- Select "default team"
- Create campaign
STEP 3: Creating a Flight
- + New Flight
- Name flight
- Use naming conventions found here
Example: Alberts_The Formery_ZB_Pre-roll_Jan-Feb 23
Advertiser_Campaign Name_Network_Position_Dates
- Delivery Details:
Set dates
Priority type = standard (generally)
Priority level = normal
Pacing = front loaded
Rate:
Net rate = Gross rate – copy from GAM or audio plan
Impression goal – copy GAM (we do not add 1,000 bonus impressions to podcasts)
Delivery Method: always ONLY podcast (deselect others)
Position: Pre-roll/Mid-roll/Post-roll OR Best Role = All 3 selected

1 (impression) / 1 download
Content Targeting – select station/podcast (tick to INCLUDE cross to EXCLUDE)
FIND EXCLUSIONS LIST HERE: Ad Ops Trafficking notes.docx (Do not download as list is always updated)
To exclude Sponsored Podcasts, please ensure that when you're adding your targeting you:
- Select the Content Tag "exclusions" and UNMATCH this from your targeting:
- Create Flight to add creative
- Frequency creative manager – select duration (15 seconds/30 seconds)
- Upload new audio flies (Can upload multiple at once)
- OR select existing audio files from the Asset Library
- Edit weighting in frequency creative manager
- Publish (top RH corner)
- Archive the GAM line.
- Close the RAP.
- Load in separate flights.
- Make sure to half the impressions when splitting into separate flights.
The list of titles to be excluded in this list will be updated by the Podcast Operations team.
To complete this step, follow these instructions:
Select "Add AND content targeting rule"
Select Content tag:
Select "exclusions"
Once Added, select Not match:
Targeting a station and excluding specific shows: For certain stations like Newstalk ZB and NZ Herald certain shows need to be excluded
Listener Targeting – Geography – location: if no Geo specified select New Zealand
Station/Podcast: This is for selecting a specific podcast show playing on/associated with a larger station.
E.G. Heather du Plessis-Allan Drive is a specific show that plays on the Newstalk ZB station
Station/Podcast Market: This is for selecting a station
E.G. Newstalk ZB
Content Tag: This is for selecting a group of podcasts that relate to a certain topic (created by NZME).
E.G. Parenting
E.G. Newstalk ZB station is targeted while excluding the specific shows Best of Business, The Country & News Fix
STEP 4: Uploading Creative
Note: creative needs to be in the format of .mp3 not .wav
