Check Tags Are Working

A guide to ensure your tags are set up correctly and troubleshoot errors.

Use this method to check that your new tags are set up correctly before you press Submit, or to check for errors if tags are not working.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Click on Preview

  2. Enter the website URL and select Connect

  3. The website will open. Click on the things that you have chosen to trigger your tag. For example, if you are testing a phone number click, click on a phone number on the page.
  4. Go back to your GTM and check that your tag is showing under "Tags Fired"
