NZME is looking for a digital-savvy sports reporter to research and write trending sports news of the day aimed at digital platforms and optimised for social media.
The position is based in our Auckland newsroom, working for and alongside nzherald.co.nz, The New Zealand Herald and Radio Sport. It requires a strong instinct for news and trending topics, a love of sport and a versatile range of multimedia skills. Solid journalism skills, such as interviewing, writing and the ability to build a contacts list is essential.
The role also requires flexibility towards a rostered work week and being able to cope with early starts, nights and weekends as required. The successful candidate will be a team player, a top communicator and won’t be flustered by deadlines.
