We’re looking for a first-class, senior journalist to tackle one of the best and biggest roles in the New Zealand media industry.
Are you a dynamic leader with a proven track record of leading newsroom and editorial teams to journalistic excellence and audience growth? An inspirational, ideas-driven person who can motivate teams to achieve their very best? A rare opportunity has arisen to be the editor of the Northern Advocate, one of NZME’s biggest regional newspapers.
You’ll be a polished and energetic leader who’s competitive, unafraid of hard work and driven to succeed. You’ll have a fresh approach to content and story-gathering across print, digital, radio and video. The news doesn’t stop and neither does this role, so some weekend and shift work will be required. You’ll also be comfortable being out and about, speaking to groups and meeting new people, as a leading figure in the region.
The position, based in Whangarei, offers a career opportunity and lifestyle second to none. Rich in history and culture with stunning beaches and countryside the winterless north is a wonderful place to live and the successful candidate will be part of a vibrant newsroom. You’ll also be backed by an organisation fostering its staff through learning and development, succession and recognition. At NZME we tell it like it is, challenge the status quo, constantly look to innovate and want some fun along the way.
To become part of this dynamic environment, please send a cover letter and CV to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
