We are currently on the hunt for an experienced writer skilled at creating innovative and engaging entertainment and lifestyle content for the New Zealand Herald and wider NZME brands.
Your main aim will be to help promote our clients’ brands and to help grow a significant new revenue stream. You will be responsible for bespoke branded content, including news stories, human interest stories, business stories and long-form features with considerable visual impact. These stories can appear in digital, print or radio formats – or all of them. Branded content has become a byword in the world’s new media environment and the ability to create genuinely interesting and reader-attracting content is needed in our growing team of writers!
The current product suite includes native advertising, advertorial and long-form. An ability to write for a digital audience – including an audience who accesses their news by mobile – will be important. However, first and foremost, we will be looking for an experienced writer who can deliver not only highly readable and engaging content – but who can also produce such pieces at a pace driven by a busily growing sector of NZME’s revenue.
You will need to have 3-4 years of writing and editing experience, in digital media would be beneficial but not necessary. You will also be collaborative, understand the value of client relationships and have a finger on the pulse of news, culture, business and all things branded content. Ticking boxes so far?To add to the list we need someone capable of ideas for content to support clients’ brands and the ability to carry a story from those conceptual ideas to interview(s) to writing and headlining the piece with audience-grabbing technique.
In return, we will offer you a supportive work environment - reward & recognition, growth & development and progression & succession for our biggest asset – our talent. We are diverse, inclusive, progressive and innovative in all that we do. Apply now to firstname.lastname@example.org
