The assistant chief of staff role will help lead the integrated, multimedia news reporting team across NZME’s national newsroom.

You'll be based in our state-of-the-art Auckland newsroom. Our world-class facility incorporates the New Zealand Herald, Weekend Herald, Herald on Sunday and nzherald.co.nz together with Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport.

Duties involve managing breaking news coverage, assigning stories, directing reporters, approving copy, generating ideas, preparing daily news lists, presenting at daily news meetings and liaising with editors.

You must have flair with copy, work to deadlines, be an expert in storytelling across print and digital platforms, expert in social media.
